A DUTCH CIRCUS SHOWCASE
With This is not a circus, A Dutch Circus Showcase, TENT and UK partners Jacksons Lane and Split Second celebrate the new circus forms currently emerging from the Netherlands. Up-and-coming Dutch makers will present their work to a London audience and professionals from October 5 to 8, 2023, with UK premieres of 60% Banaan, Ways of being ready, Sawdust Symphony and 360.
60% Banana by Monki is a cheery message for the angry citizen: a theatrical circus show on the theme of optimism. Ways of being ready by Hendrik Van Maele is a live encounter between two lifelong friends: mime artist Elliot Dehaspe and acrobat Hendrik Van Maele. Sawdust Symphony, created and performed by Michael Zandl, David Eisele and Kolja Huneck, allows circus and craftsmanship to meet in an incomparable show. The showcase concludes with 360, created by Monki and TENT co-director Hanneke Meijers, an immersive and dynamic performance suitable for all ages.
This London showcase brings upbeat, exciting circus highlighting and celebrating the best of Dutch circus on the international stage. Made possible by the Fast Forward programme of the Performing Arts Fund NL.
