GREAT CATCH - FRESH TASTE OF CIRCUS
Young circus artists on tour through the Netherlands.
Great Catch is exactly what the title implies, a great catch. And you can experience it know. In The Netherlands a new generation of circusartists rises, who not only have amazing skills but also uses them to create funny, moving and personal theatre performances. The circus coalitie thought it was time to show them to the Dutch audience. They selected three original procutions of new circus talent. Together they will tour the Dutch theatres. An surprising programme full of circus adventure, catch it if you can!
Great Catch is an initiative of the Circus Coalition. With this collaboration, they want to contribute to a good climate for the creation and presentation of circus in the Netherlands. The Circus Coalition is committed to stimulating talent, venues and audiences for circus. LIZA VAN BRAKEL
Liza van Brakel has just graduated from Codarts Circus Arts and stands out with her own style in which she combines juggling, floor acrobatics and dance. Inspired by the lockdown period she spent in her room, she created the poetic juggling performance Umbra for Great Catch. A work about the curiosity for simplicity and at the same time an ode to everything that is possible.
TEATIME COMPANY
The trio TeaTime Company mixes the artists' diverse backgrounds into a striking new discipline with 'sticks' that they use as juggling objects, Chinese poles and dance partners. Their energetic debut performance Stick-Stok plays refreshingly with the human desire to discover.
